Determining What Will Sell

First, the 5 methods of marketing research

1. Use Historics - how has the business performed in the past - in this case, I would use same year last year ... and then I would layer it ... past 5 years and then past 10 years, layered ... seasonality ...
  1. Also, what is selling now? The frequency is so soon, recent sales data will apply ... both on the web (ours, Amazon and Wal-Mart) and retail.
2. Do a small test run ... start small and find out what sells.
3. Ask the customer ... take a survey ... conduct a focus group.
4. Ask a friendly non-competitor.
5. Public data ... Wal-Mart numbers, Amazon.com numbers.
6. Find the Break Even point ... can this be reached?

The goal ... beat last year's numbers .. increase revenues.

$20,000 revenues was the average ... double it to $40,000 ...
